Makers Weekend

A weekend retreat at Northern Comfort Bed and Breakfast
Ask A Question

Welcome Makers!

I’ve put together a perfect weekend getaway for sewers, knitters and crafters. Enjoy farm-fresh meals, cozy beds and unlimited time in our refurbished dairy barn studio while you work on your projects. Arrive Friday and head home Sunday. In between you relax work and make new friends in our beautiful setting. It’s craft camp for grown-ups!

I’m Patty and I’ll be your host for Makers Weekend. My husband and I are innkeepers at Northern Comfort Bed and Breakfast, located a few hours north of Minneapolis.

Northern Comfort is a five bedroom traditional Finnish bed and breakfast tucked into 17 acres of pines and fields. During the retreat, we’ll gather in our refurbished 1930’s barn that houses our antique shop and studio. The retreat includes open studio time, all meals, evening wine and cheese cocktail hours and a traditional Finnish sauna.

Northern Comfort Maker’s weekends are unstructured, meaning we do not have a specific project or even specific approach for the weekend. Attendees who would like some help selecting projects for the weekend are encouraged to contact us for a planning session. Attendees who are interested in knitting or sewing may request basic instruction as part of the retreat experience.

Ideas for projects: Knitting, garment or quilt sewing, scrapbooking or even writing/reading projects. We’re providing the space for relaxation and creativity.

Schedule

We’ll keep things fun and flexible, but here’s a general approach for the weekend.
