Greeetings hip and modern mallrats! Love your hair, can you make me a mix tape? Preferably Poison. Or Whitesnake. Or Meatloaf.
No? Fine, then. Whatever. I still love you! And just to prove that love and to CELEBRATE the new blog I’m hosting a giveaway!! A good one, too! Here’re the details
Who can enter…
All of you lovely big haired mallrats! Whichever country of origin and/or current residence.
What you will win…
Ooooooo… this is the good part! In honor of my most recent dress obsession, I thought that a giveaway for (most) of the Claire Cami Dress was in order! I’m giving away the pattern and fabric. You’ll have to come up with 1/2 yard of interfacing, one spool of thread and ribbon for the waist tie.
Giveaway includes ONE Claire Cami Dress pattern from Serendipity Studios – available in XXS through XXL.
But just a pattern does not a dress make, does it? Oh no. Also included in the giveaway is enough FABRIC to make the dress (around 2 yards of the main fabric and one yard of contrast fabric) in whatever of the following three combos tickles your fancy**…
**Subject to availability on Tuesday morning when I go to cut it!
The last combo (the red and white) is not only organic cotton, but I’ve already got ANOTHER Claire Cami cut out in this red toile wanna-be. So, future giveaway winner, may I suggest that you choose THIS combo so we can have matching dresses? Please??
When does the giveaway start? When does it end??
OK… it starts NOW!! Just after midnight on Saturday, July 9th! You have until MIDNIGHT on Monday, July 11th to enter!!
Why do a giveaway?
Mostly because I love to give away things! Partially to make sure I pick up any of y’all stray mallrats I may have lost track of during the blog update!
How to enter…
1] Follow me. Somewhere. I know we all like to use different ways to keep up with our blog readin’, so I’ll leave this pretty open. Just follow me using Google Friend Connect** (hope that links works!), Facebook, Twitter or subscribe to the blog.
**Note! If you were already a ‘follower’ of The Snug Bug, then you’re STILL a follower via Google Friend Connect!!
2] Leave a comment on this post. Please let me know which way you’re following me and MOST IMPORTANT!!! You must provide an email address!! If you enter your name/website in your comment and I’ll be able to find your email on your blog, that’s good enough. I just want to be able to find the winner!!
So that’s it, you lovely creatures of hair and blue eyeshadow! Go forth and enter the giveaway!!
And just a little reminder of my Claire Cami History…
[nggallery id=7]
I love you blog and loving the new layout!
I have been in love with the Claire Cami dress since the first time I saw you post it!! You have a fabulous eye for colour. So excited about this giveaway.
Follow you on Facebook and also subscribed with Google Reader.
Keep up the awesome work!
Bella 🙂
Oh, my e-mail address is bela_14@hotmail.com
Following via Google friend connect/google reader- feel very naughty commenting for the first time in a rush of greed for the gorgeous dress; but I do read your blog every post. Disturbed that you never mention moorhens though! Keep up the good work, you make a lot of people happy.
Yay for first comments! I should have included that in the ‘how’ section! Giveaways are great to turn long-time readers into first-time commenters!!
Lovin’ the new look website and loving this giveaway. I often look to you for inspiration and if I were to win would definitely like the scarlet fabric set 🙂
Keep up your amazing blog, just wish I was closer so I could come to one of your classes – I bet that would be a blast!
Still not done my Collette Crepe in the Alexander Henry fabric but its getting closer, much closer 🙂
Nik
Hey Patty
Congrats on the new look of the blog. My eyes are still adjusting to it but it looks totally splendiferous(I had to spell check that word, ha ha!)
I have to say I am drawn to the whimsical fabric of the first combo….so would you be so kind as to enter me for that one please? Thankyou, our Splendiferous Spotted Cuscus (There’s one for you to look up…;)

Ps-already a Google follower 🙂

I’ve got you in Google Reader. I’m loving the new blog, by the way! It is hard to decide between the blue and the red fabrics. Hmmmm- might have to go with the red…
Love the style of the new blog! Well done on getting it up and running. And the give away is great. I would choose the red fabric if I won! x
I follow you on Google Connect and loved your cami dresses. What a great giveaway, fabric as well, always a difficult choice so nice to have it made for me!
Oh wow! What a pretty fabrics! You are so good at finding matching fabrics, I really have to get into that too. I’m following you through Google Reader.
Blue is the obvious colour for me, but I like the red fabric so much I might go for that one…
Like your new site btw, very light and it seems to fit you!
Oh wait – it’s organic cotton! Well then I HAVE to go with red obviously!
Thanks! My two secrets to mixing prints… first, don’t over thing…. contrast, large/small scale or repetitive/wooshy together. It also helps that I work in a fabric shop and have a chance to pull a lot of stuff off the shelves and play, stand back, etc.
What a nice giveaway! I am following you via google reader.
I love the dress, would be so pretty in blue. I’ve been following you for ages on Google Reader and I’ve just added Connect. Love the new website btw.
I’m following you on facebook
I would love to wear a red cami dress matching yours…
Your blog is so inspiring! Besides your style and the great tutorials I like your taste in animals.
Thank you Patty!
ps: I send a special cuddle to Lucy.
Lucy took too long for her morning sniff (IN THE RAIN) and is currently in the virtual-reality doghouse. Unfortunately, I don’t think Mr. Bug got the memo and I’m pretty sure the two of them are snoozing in the bed like a pile of ferrets.
What a great giveaway! I love the blue combo, but I love the red too. I follow you on facebook. I love your blog and the new look. Thanks Patty!
I follow you through google reader . I love the way you out fabrics together I seem unable to do that .You must have the eye for it lol ! If I won I would choose the Blue or red .
Each of those combos would make a fabu dress but the red toile is my favorite. I am subscribed to the blog and your Facebook.
The red would be PERFECT with your coloring!
I would love to join in the giveaway! I love the new look!
I have been a follower for ages, I always make your blog my last to read, kinda like how you save a cookie until last!
The blue is a fab combination!
my email is beebeesvintagedress@hotmail.co.uk same as my blog xxx
That’s funny! I do that with some blogs too, but never really thought about how I was doing it!
I follow your blog in Google Reader, hope that’s considered an ok following place!
I don’t normally mix prints but I do love that middle combination and who can’t do with a nice easy to wear summer dress?!?
Google reader most certainly counts!
following on Facebook and subscribed to your new pretty blog.
I think I would go for the blue option but my arm could be twisted to go with the red.
email is: candyajoyce(at)yahoo(dot)co(dot)uk
Great giveaway! I love the red/white fabric combo and my serger and sewing machine currently ARE threaded with red so it would be perfect!
I follow your blog with google reader.
hpennie at amtelecom dot net
P.S. I wouldn’t say no to a mixed tape of Poison and Meatloaf! Aaaah, to reminisce about the glory days……….:-)
I follow you with Google Reader and “like” you on FB. I love the red fabrics. Thanks for the giveaway!
Great Giveaway! I love the red combo!
I already subscribe to the blog and follow you on twitter!
I love the blog and feel very inspired by the beautiful things you sew 🙂
I follow you in google reader.
I love that blue fabric!
What a great giveaway!! 🙂 I’m a follower on google reader. I think I’d have to go for the red and white combo, as red suits me better than blue and pink (as much as I adore those fabric combos!) I love your versions lots!
Ashley x
ps. my email is jasminebrett@hotmail.co.uk
I think the turquoise is the only colourway I could wear but am happy to try new colours! I follow you on facebook already…
Sue – the blue would be LOVELY on you – but you look like you rock the pink/purple combo as well!!
Hi! I follow you on Google reader and on Facebook. Love the your blog. Love the dress. 🙂
I am gleefully following you on Facebook and I love love love the red fabric! Do you know naked mole rats? Look them up – amazing creatures!
I would love to win. Any fabric combo would be lovely, but I love the blue and the red the best. My new obsession with red might influence me…
I follow on FB and Twitter. 🙂
I very very nearly purchased this pattern last week after seeing your versions of it. I love the red fabric (red ones go faster!).
The new blog is shiny! Shame it doesn’t translate to google reader… Will have to make an effort to click through from twitter.
Dr. Duckie! My posts are still showing up as normal in google reader (yes, I subscribe to myself!!) are they not showing correctly in your reader??
You rock!!! Great fabric pairings, I am totally jealous of your ability to do this… I follow you on Google Reader and FB.
I love the red fabric the best! Let’s be matching! My email is rmacoskey@gmail.com. I love the new blog too!
Love your blog and love the amount of detail you put into every post. I’ve been following you in Google Reader for a while and just started following in Google Friends. Both the blue and the red combos will make great dresses, but I think I like the blue a teensy bit more.
Great new look to your blog! I have followed you on Google Reader for a while now and made sure I was on Friend Connect. Love the blue combo! My e-mail is wigray06 at yahoo dot com
Hi Patty!! I love you blog. I’m following you on Facebook. The fabric combinations you picked are great but I really love the red/white one. I’m also a first time commenter. 🙂
Me! Me! I want to win, and I love the red combo the best of all! What an awesome giveaway!
Heather (heathertyfeatherty at gmail dot com)
Yay, what a great giveaway. Love the lilac combo. 🙂
Hi, Patty! When I saw your first Claire Cami I went straight to The Serendipity website and drooled, and immediately chose 4-5 patterns for my wish list. Still on my wish list, though, while I play around with Japanese Dress Books. I’m always inspired by your fabric combinations and your sunny disposition. I love the purple combo (can’t get enough Anna Maria Horner fabric). I follow you on FB and my email is deanegiordano@mail.com. YAY! Thanks for the giveaway and the inspiration.
Ah nothing like a great giveaway to bring out the comments! I have been following you on bloglovin, but now I’ve switched over to google reader. I would love to win the giveaway, especially the Wooster and Prince Scarlet fabric!!
Thanks Patty!!
OH! I forgot about bloglovin! That’d count too!
Yes please! Love the blue colorways – can I wear blue eyeshadow with it?
The new layout looks great!
perfect! Blue eyeshadow it is!
Fun! I like the red combo! I subscribe on Google Reader – hope that counts.
SCHAWEET. I follow you on facebook and just added you to my RSS feed.
Love the new site. Love the Claire Cami dress! Would love to get my hands on that blue fae fabric.
Wow, I love giveaways! I was going to try this pattern, so this is ideal – thank you for the chance to win.
I love the blue colourway and I subscribe via Google Reader & Twitter :0)
Ohhhh! Thank you!! I subscribe via Google Reader and my email address is on my blog somewhere.
I, too, am a first commenter but I LOVE your blog, read it often and have bookmarked several pages. We have similar figures and I love your style! I’ve been eyeing this dress since the first incarnation. 🙂
Thank you!!
Must enter this. Now, I’m definitely following you via Bloglovin (hence why I’m here) and I should be following you on google too (because Bloglovin is anon) so you know I exist… But will double check. I think I have you in my blogroll on my website anyway so im very much regularly reading your stuff… Anyhoo, technicalities aside….
My email: insertcreativityhereuk@gmail dot com
Of insertcreativityhereuk.blogspot.com
And I’m after the blue or red please xx
Pick me, pick, me. The modern toiles are funky and fun. I too am having trouble deciding if I love the blue or the red better. Your blog is a must read everyday so now you’re on google reader. I’m such a cavewoman about bogs and how to follow….I just go to then everyday w/o “following”.
I know – that’s why I tried to leave it ‘open’ as to what following means! I tend to check the blogs on my blogroll when there are new posts by clicking over from my site. And then I have 250 blogs that I subscribe to in reader, which currently has about 2500 unread posts (down from 3000+ earlier today!!)
Hello Patty,
I started following you a few months ago (and am now finally caught up reading all your posts from day 1) via Google Reader and Facebook. I’ve been inspired to take a few sewing classes, get a machine, and sew my first pillows, skirts, and a shirt from a pattern (which I’d never done before, just finished this morning, and actually turned out wearable)! I like seeing how you put different fabric patterns together, and how you add accessories to change the look of the finished garments (because I don’t have much fashion sense). I also enjoy reading the random MN postings because I grew up in that neck of the woods. If I won the giveaway, I’d choose the blue. Thanks!
http://www.facebook.com/ericashansen
Yay! That’s awesome – we always tell people in our sewing 101 class to just get out there and SEW!! It sounds like you’re moving right along! Welcome!
I’ve been following your blog ever since we had a chat about selecting the appropriate size for the Lady Grey on Gertie’s sew along flickr site last fall. I am so envious of your eye for color combinations. I just don’t have the gift!
I love all of of the fabric combos but you just can’t beat red and white for summer (and the top fabric is so cute!!)
I follow you on Facebook. (-:
I follow you both on Facebook and my Google reader feed. I enjoy seeing your creations and reading your writing.
I’m following you on Facebook. Also I LOVE the purple fabrics. And I love this dress pattern I really hope I win.
I subscribe to your blog through Google. Love it!
I love the red combo and not just because I want to be just like you. It helps, but it isn’t the only reason! LOL
I’m a follower from your previous blog.
I love your fabric combinations- lovely and inspiring!!
Ooh, me, me!
I’m a follower on Facebook and my email is linked above.
Love the new blog format and all of your beautiful dresses.
Oooh, count me in! I love the blue combo. But the red is great too. Um. Yay, sundress! 🙂
I follow you via Google reader. I think the first post I ever commented on was the Daisy Dukes cut out shorts post. I just descovered you recently due to my quest to find people of non industry standard shapes to inspire me to sew for MY body and not for a size 4. I may not comment everyday but I’m always looking!:-)
Divinedime@Gmail.com
OK, I can leave messages now…
I’m subscribed to your blog already, and I just followed you on Twitter.
I love this blog – I’m kind of a chicken when it comes to combining patterns, but you do it beautifully! So inspiring!
I love that dress pattern, and the red combo is gorgeous!
Thanks for blogging, and keep up the excellent work.
Oh goodness I would love to be dress twinsies! amym710@gmail.com
Oh crap, I forgot to tell you that I follow your blog through Google reader and I follow you on Facebook! Sorry for the double post. Amym710@gmail.com
Hello lovely! I follow via google and twitter (does that give me two chances?) I love the blue toile and the red what fabulous color combos. I would love to have your job.
Love the new blog look. Really enjoying all the inspiration you provide. g
I would love to make this dress up in the red fabric combo. I now follow you on fb. Thanks!
I love your blog!! I follow you on Facebook. I absolutely love the third fabric combination you picked.
I’ve been loving this dress every time you’ve made one. I have to agree that it is perfect for summer! I subscribe in google reader and the blog seems to have transitioned to its new home seamlessly from a google reader viewpoint. Looks great!
I have been admiring this pattern since you caught Claire Cami fever! I must have it! I follow your blog on Google and on Twitter.
Oooh, ooh! Pick me!
I follow you on Google Friend Connect and use Google Reader as my feed catcher. I also follow you on Pinterest.
Though the other colors are lovely, I must say that I like the red combo best.
Oh, oh, me, ME!!!! I love this pattern and have been on my own dress obsession lately. (I was already a follower.)
Love your new layout BTW. I’m still getting caught up after my trip, so I haven’t fully explored things yet but it’s lookin’ mighty nice. 🙂
Squeek! Squeek! Me! Me! (that’s the call of the mall rat…in case you didn’t recognize it)
I’ve been following you on google reader for a while; and look forward to reading you every day. Wish I lived a little further north so I could visit the shop. I’d love to spend some time there doing some fabric mix n match. I think all your fabric combos are great, but I like the blue one best.
Thanks Ms. Snu Bug!
This pattern looks so great on you and I want one too! I love the red and white combo. Thank you for the fabulous giveaway.
I’ll be crossing my fingers – I’d love to make this dress out of those blues. I follow your blog with Google Reader, and I also follow you on Twitter. If I am so lucky, my email is amy.ahearta at gmail dot com.
I’ve been eyeballing that pattern, but alas, I am not able to buy any new patterns or fabric this summer. I love the blue set and the red set, very cute! I follow you with Google Friend Connect and through my Blogger account.
I love your color combinations! And something must be in the air because that’s the third SS pattern I’ve seen this week.
And I’ve had you in my Google Reader for a while now but only just realized I didn’t follow you yet. Done.
Thank you for the giveaway. My email is on my blog (it’s also my username AT gmail so…)
I follow my google methinks… It shows up in my blogger blog reader everyday, so I know I’m following somehow!
While the red combo is super cute, I sadly look awful in most shades. Add some white into the mix and I can handle it, so I’m all about the pink on this one.
Thanks for the great giveaway, and the new layout is super cute!
OMG! That first fabric choice is AMAZING! I’m gonna have to see if I can hunt it down locally now, because I just love it so much.
One thing to note, though, is that I’ve had to override the fonts in order to be able to read your blog at the site. Normally I read in google reader, so I hadn’t noticed this before. If I was just coming across your blog now I probably wouldn’t choose to follow it, which would be a shame because you are an amazing inspiration!
kmp8 at sfu dot ca
Have been following your blog for several months, it’s my go-to-first-read blog. I subscribed recently. A giveaway gets me out of lurk mode, funny how that is…I love the red combo and the dress looks so summery pretty. Email is rsagert at gmail dot com.

Barbara
I’m following you on google. Love your site, you’re super inspiring! Also, I’d love to be dress twins with the red, I have the perfect shoes to go with it too!
Hmmmm, I think I use google connect, as ive linked my rss feed to my google account…
The red combo is gorgeous, but then we can’t go to the same sewing parties… (are there such things?)
I’ve been following you on Facebook for a while but actually when I found your blog a month or so ago, I had to read all your posts from the beginning because you’re so darn inspiring! I’m fairly new to sewing but I have learned a lot and laughed a lot right along with you 🙂
I love the idea of making matching dresses, the red fabric is beeeeautiful and my email address is chainmailgodess@gmail.com in case my luck is on the up and up 🙂
I follow though google on blogger. Fun give away!
Sprig2(at)aol(dot)com I like the pink and the red combos the best I think. But the blue is pretty too.. heck they are all pretty.
Hi Patty !
Me and my two snug black pugs follow on Google reader.
I would love to win because here in Nova Scotia we have very little in the line of fabric and craft stores, poor fabric choices and not many patterns other than the big 4.
I love your blog and admire your generosity in sharing your sewing gifts and your lovely life in general.
You have an aspirational life and blog.
Thank you Aileen
What a lovely giveaway! The fabrics are very fun and the pattern makes such a great dress. I’m following you via Google friend connect!
Great giveaway – love how you always use animal names in your posts!
I read your blog on Google Reader while I knit and think about maybe sewing.
A red dress would be a fun place to start.
yvonnedubreuil at gmail dot com

I want RED! And I Love your style! Love your Blog!
I would love to win. I’ve been itching to make one since your first version! It would be my first me made dress for myself – I’ve made lots of bags, toys and clothes for the many kids in my life, but not a lot for myself.
It’s a really good first garment project – you don’t have to worry too much about fitting!
Love your style and the awesome tutorials. I subscribe to your blog in google reader and would love to win this giveaway!
I’ve been subscribed to your RSS, but I just added you on twitter. Yay for some crafting content!
I follow you via google reader and have for some time! I love your blog, especially the fitting posts.
I love all the clothes you make. I follow you by email because my reader is unpredictable. I really like the Good Life collection pairing for the Claire Cami Dress it looks so summery.
Hey Patty!
I follow with Bloglovin’ – hope that counts!
I adore all the combinations of the dress so picking would be a fraught time but still fingers crossed 🙂
~Alana
I followed the old blog, which you assure me means I’m still a follower? I also follow on facebook!
I freaking love the first fabric combination and the dresses you made are gorgeous!
I follow you through google reader. All of those fabric combinations are fabulous!!
I am following you on facebook. I love the red combo too.

Email: changeinplans@gmail.com
I love love LOVE the blue fabric mix. And the dress is so pretty! I was going to buy it but I thought I’d chance my luck here first, just in case! (I’ll buy it anyway when I don’t win!)
I follow on facebook, and I did follow before the changeover.
I love, love, love the dress pattern, the versions you have made so far and your fabric choices for this giveaway (though the red wins in my book too). Also love your blog so am pleased as punch to follow through yahoo’s reader (up until now I just had it listed in my favorites). Thanks so much for all the inpspiration and fun giveaway!
I just started following you on Facebook and am about to do so on Twitter, too. Have to tell you that I’ve been lurking for a couple of months and I love all your dresses and sewing tutorials, from one curvy girl to another.
And that red fabric is gorgeous – my favourit colour on my birthday. Holy cow would I love to win that!
I love the new layout! It makes it so much more fun to see so many of your great sewing projects all at once! I love this pattern and I really hope I win so I can make a matching dress to yours! I love the red combo!!
I follow you on Facebook and on my Google Reader.
gretaminton(at)sbcglobal(dot)net
Discovered you on Pattern Review–loved your black dress. ‘Course I also loved your green-white dress. And the Cami Dress. And Mr. Bug’s Coat. And your dashing Maxi-dress.
Sent my discovery to my Sewing Sistahs on Sew-Ab too! ‘Cuz when y’awl find something good, ya jes’ gotta pass it along!
ZB
Ooooh, love all those fabric combos! If I’m lucky enough to win, I’d want you to choose and surprise me :D!
Your style and projects are so inspiring! Loved the green and white March dress so much that I made a similar dress for myself.
Longtime, non-commenting lurker here :D. Already a Google follower, and a new Twitter follower!
Hello! I think I can join in with many of these commenters in that I am a first-timer, greedy for some of that beautiful fabric and lovely pattern. You and I have a similar shape and your many variations look so nice. Recently I moved to southern California from rainy Seattle and, as the summer continues, I am feeling that my “warm” weather wardrobe is wholly inadequate.
I’m a follower through Google Reader and love the update!
Cheers!
Hi.
New blog design is great. Have been reading a while and the potential joy of getting the cami dress pattern and fabric has caused action ie first comment. I subscribed to your blog (I use the google reader)and I liked you on facebook because I really really do.
As a woman blessed/cursed with boobage and height and curves, it is lovely to read positive info in terms of dressing and sewing for this series of body parts. Thanks.
I liked you on Facebook (but I’ve liked you here for several months 🙂 ), because Google Reader baffles me.
Your blog is great. Thus far, it’s inspired me to buy fabric and a pattern or two. Once I get my floors finished, I’ll actually sew!
I like the blues.
swiftlytiltingplanet@comcast.net
Love your new blog!! Super cute.
As tempting as it would be to have matching dresses, I do look better in blue!
Keep up the good work.
I love your blog! It makes me smile everyday. I would love to win the red toile version of your dress pattern giveaway, but really, any combo would do! Keep up your good work!
Hi Patty,
Your new site is even better than the sneak peek I’ve got! Félicitations!
I would love to win the pattern and red fabrics to make a twin dress!
Thanks,
Caro

Love your blog. I am now following you on Facebook. I would love to make the same color dress as you but the blues would match my mallrat eyeshadow better 😉
Oooh pretty fabric! I’m following via Google reader. I love all the fabric combinations, but possibly love the red the most!
I’ve just subscribed via Google Reader. Love your work and hope it may long continue! Maybe it’s my aging eyeballs, but I’m having a lot of difficulty reading your new font. But my peepers aren’t what they used to be!
Following you via Facebook!
I’m in love with the blue combo you posted! :swoon::
and my email is miarock@gmail.com
Love your blog and Sewtropolis! I am now following you on Facebook.
What a great giveaway! I keep meaning to make a dress that is slightly less skin tight that the ones I seem to go for, which always seems like a good idea until it gets too hot and I cant sit down properly! the fabrics are also gorgeous, I would love to match you but the blue is just so amazing that I would have to go for that.
I am still following you from my blogger reader thingummy, loving the new blog prettiness!
Great, great giveaway, but so difficult to choose. The pink plaid and AMH are calling me but that red combo is irresistible too!
I’m following a while, and also on Facebook, but haven’t commented in ages, since the Colette crepe, I think …. Oops!
Angela
I love your blog and just started following you on twitter, where I am afrikate. I especially enjoy your tutorials and explanations–as a new sewer it’s so helpful and gets me excited about sewing while building my confidence!
