OK, late-in-day post for all you sleeping hounds! I don’t have a lot for you, except a little more plotting for my fall wardrobe! As many of you know, I often style each finished garment three different ways for the reveal posts. I do this partially for fun, but also to ensure that I’m staying away from making wardrobe orphans or garments that are just one-trick ponies. Sometimes, when I’m trying to decide what to wear I’ll click through old posts, ‘shopping’ in my closet, so why not get all the pictures in one place, right? Luckily, Photoshop has a quick way to make contact sheets, so I just clicked through all the posts on my closet page and saved all those reveal photos and made a contact sheet… somehow this just HAPPENED to be 100 photos! Check it out! [click for larger image]
Putting together all the photos posed a perfect opportunity to see what silhouettes I really like on me – specifically with fall wardrobe planning in mind. I really like dresses and skirts, but in the fall and winter I certainly wear trousers and jeans more often and in general am a separates sort of girl. For the fall I’d like to focus on trousers, skirts and shirts that will layer well. Another wardrobe issue – more of a fabric issue, really, is that I prefer to wear leggings and/or boots with skirts, so I’d like to work on some dresses and skirts in fabrics and colors that work well with those.
Here’s a fun game! I went through and chose my favorite look for fall from each line – here’s the picture again, click on it to see which I chose in each row – I’ve marked with a pink checkmark!
Alright! Back to work I go! Have a great rest of the day sleepy heads!
Oh I LOVE this! What a fabulous idea. You have such a fun style. I look a lot like you, so it’s especially fun for me to see your outfits (bc I can imagine ME in them!) Thanks for inspiring me.
I love seeing what other people wear when we have similar shapes and/or coloring – it help me be more objective looking at OTHER people, you know??
Great Idea..I enjoyed looking at all the wonderful different styles that look great on you!
I love these outfits! Absolutely gorgeous. I want all of your skirts and most of the tops. As well as the black jacket you were wearing.
Yay! Thanks! I always want to do more with tops, but I really just like wearing knits that stretch under cardis. I’m so unimaginative!!
wow that was fabulous !! Wouldn’t want to try to put mine together though…..haven’t taken pics cause ……haven’t made anything as yet I can wear !!!! Ugh ! Trying though and liking the inspiration from your blog. Thank you soooo much !
Keep trying! Practice (as they say) makes perfect – there’s probably a few garments in the pictures that I wouldn’t really want all yall to inspect in person…
This is really neat, esp if you have fuzzy-brain and need help remembering combinations! My very favorite is the white, black and pink outfit in the second row, followed by both circle skirt views in row 8. You’ve inspired me to wear my belts!
I like the circle skirts too! I’m wearing that skirt today, in fact! with a T shirt and cardi – it’s a bit chilly in Mpls!
I hope your Woodland Crepe works into your Fall Wardrobe plans, because I am psyched to see you rocking that with the boots! I found a silk/cotton velveteen blazer on the thrift yesterday, and it’s got me wishing for the halcyon days of October already.
I always feel sort of goofy wearing that double gauze with boots!!
You are such an inspiration. I’m becoming more and more addicted to you blog. Since I’ve been following you, I’ve been sewing more and thinking more about my outfits. And, I already spend a lot of time plotting outfits, so that saying a lot!
Yay! I’m addicting! Like chocolate! I love to plot, I’m glad others do too!
I’m new to your blog today, but I’ve spent about 3 hours checking it all out. You may have just inspired me to try and learn to sew! I love circle skirts, but they’re so difficult to find in my size. Your style is so fun!!
Would you mind pointing me toward where you found those delicious brown leather knee boots? I adore them, and my calves are begging me to find a pair of my own. 🙂 Thanks so much!
That sounds like a great 3 hours (ha ha) Sewing is fun! Learn!
I get a lot of my boots at Avenue – they aren’t very high quality, but they’re nice and cheap so I can get a lot, plus they fit over my giant calves!! They go on sale pretty often – looks like they already have some fall ones up – I want the brown ones with buckles! http://www.avenue.com/Plus-Size-Boots.aspx?DeptId=19963
I simply couldn’t depart your site before suggesting that I actually enjoyed the standard info a person provide for your visitors? Is gonna be back often to check out new posts
