Greetings from Northern Comfort B & B and Homespun Acres Antique and Gift Shop! Kathy and I are excited to let you in on some exciting news here at the farm and to introduce you to some new friends!
As many of you might have known, we’ve been searching for the right fit to ensure a positive transition for Northern Comfort and Homespun Acres over the past year and a half. While Kathy and I have absolutely loved the last eight years, getting to know all of you and having you as our guests, we’re ready for a new chapter in our lives. We are excited to head to Southern Minnesota where Pam has secured a fabulous new job, and Kathy looks forward to being a prominent presence at farmers markets and various antique venues.
And we’ve found the perfect fit! This July, we’ll be handing over the keys to Jeff and Patty Brower (along with their basset hound, Peppermint) who will be taking over the bed and breakfast and antique shop. Jeff and Patty have been guests of ours a few times over the years while visiting family in the area.
You will be able to get to know Patty and Jeff on your own, and until then, we’re happy to leave you in great hands. Patty is ‘coming home’ after being gone from the area for the past 25 years. She has strong connections to Embarrass; her stepfather built the soon-to-reopen Four Corners and she graduated from high school in nearby Tower. Jeff, originally from Utica, New York, grew up fishing the Florida coast and has spent the last 30 years working in forestry and conservation in the Shenandoah Valley in rural Virginia. Together, Patty and Jeff have been operating an antique shop in Staunton, Virginia, and are excited to keep filling up the barn with treasures for Homespun Acres.
Patty and Jeff are looking forward to meeting guests as well as bringing back Christmas on the Farm (and more) this year. If you’d like to keep up with special events and fun offers on the farm, please subscribe to the newsletter list. We promise, it’ll all be good stuff that gets sent out and your information will be safe!
And don’t worry, Kathy and I aren’t completely disappearing! Keep reading the newsletter for occasional ‘Where in the world are Kathy and Pam’ updates. We’ll also be teaming up with Jeff and Patty to keep the antique shop well stocked. Kathy will continue to make her wonderful soaps as well.
Thank you so much for sharing the last eight years with us. We look forward to everything the future has to offer.
