Woo hoo! I’ve gotten down to business on plotting my summer wardrobe capsule that I’m stitching up as part of the Curvy Sewing Collective Capsule theme month. I’ve sorted through fabrics in my stash based on my (current) priorities… more separates, especially cute T’s to wear with bloomers.
Without further ado, here’s the capsule.
As you can see, there are a few gaps that I’ll fill in with shoes and accessories. And unlike my last capsule project, even though I’m using the Sudoku framework, not everything lines up perfectly — i.e. Outfit #2 is more of an either/or plan. The skirt will look great with the dress or the T!
Here’s a bit better picture of the dress fabrics….
The knits….
The fabric for the bloomers…
And the fabric for the stretch project of a duster…
As you know, with projects like this, I expect the sewing plan will shift over time, but I’m happy to have a solid plan in place already for this quickie project!
Happy sewing!!
Looks good!
I’m having a lot of fun reading your blog. Getting lots of ideas. I like the bloomers, I just don’t know if I could wear them, anywhere. Home is about the only place. But I could not at work, that is for sure.
I’m not feeling that jeans look good on me, either.
I’m thinking I should just try the bloomers and see.
Your cat is cracking me up on Instagram, especially cute with the dog.
My in laws live in Echo Mn, actually out in the country.
My husband grew up around there, Hanly Falls, Granite Falls, Marshal, cottonwood.
Hi Amie! Where do you work? I don’t really think bloomers are all that different than a skirt, but thinking back to my corporate days, I guess I can see it! Although – I worked in marketing so we got a bit of a ‘pass’ on creative clothing š
I’m a nurse, I work in a hospital but in administration not direct patient care, we are very conservative. I’m the Quality director, I deal with patient complaints, visitors, physicians. Our dress code is business casual, but many women I work with wear suits. Our system just recently decided we can wear split skirts! We are all excited. July 1 is the day. We can’t wear jeans or denim.
