May is here! A time of blooming flowers, buzzing bees, and warm winds caressing the lilacs. But, of course, it’s northern Minnesota. So instead we got a full day full of fat, fluffy snowflakes.
But nevermind! This May brings some superduper fly sewing projects that I’m taking part in which will yield lots of outfit-of-the-day pictures and more capsule sewing.
Me Made May
For those of you not familiar, Me Made May is a sewing experiment that’s been going on for eight years. During the month of May, sewists from all over take a simple pledge:
‘I, (insert name here and blog address/Instagram handle if you have one), sign up as a participant of Me-Made-May ’17. I endeavor to wear………………………………………………… each day for the duration of May 2017’
‘I, Patty Brower (www.pattybrower.com | @patty_brower), sign up as a participant of Me-Made-May ’17. I endeavor to wear mostly handmade or upcycled garments each day for the duration of May 2017’
The last time I finished a Me Made month was in March of 2011 — six years ago! Here’s my recap in it’s blurred, crazed glory… along with a recap that totally cracked me up.
The Best, the Worst and heading to Goodwill…
- Best daytime look – the 16th
- Best Night look – the 21st
- Oddest look – the 26th
- Can’t believe I left the house like that look – the 20th
- Best mix of comfy and cute – the 24th
For some reason, that totally cracks me up. My style has obviously blossomed since then. Not so much changed, as over the last almost decade I’ve steadily made progress towards IDGAF and wearing what I like (i.e. #PattyNoPants). Here’s my picture from today (Day One). Lack of footwear aside, I clearly look like I should be singing a merry song with a bluebird on my finger #DisneyPrincessEveryDay.
If you want to follow along, follow me on Instagram for daily updates and if you want to participate yourself, head over here for more details and use the tag #MMMay17 on social media to join up! You can participate at whatever level you like… some go with 100% Me-Made including undies, where as some pledge for one item a week. Join us!
