Visitors to Northern Comfort Bed and Breakfast have a new option for a glass of wine, freshly roasted coffee and delicious baked goods this summer.
Nothern Grounds Coffee and Wine Bar (2 West Sheridan Street, Ely, Minnesota) had its grand opening over the winter, adding a hip destination for Ely locals and visitors to relax. The wine bar offers 46 different wines by the glass (at great prices, most in the $6-$8 range) along with a craft beer selection (on tap as well as bottle).
There’s also an amazing bakery and coffee bar with freshly baked treats (baked just two doors down by the Northern Grounds team) and coffee made from beans roasted on site.
Jeff and I stopped by last weekend for post-dinner dessert, and were super happy with the tasty treats (he had a scone, I had a CAKEPOP!) and great beer and wine selection! We brought a bag of the Brazillian roast beans home to try and will be including it in our breakfast offerings this summer.
The surroundings are super cool and comfy — exposed brick, ductwork, and fun Boundary Waters signage serving as artwork. I mean… just look at the lovely view out the front window!
If you’re planning a trip up to stay at Northern Comfort B&B, make sure to save some time (and room) for a stop by Northern Grounds!
